Experience Partnering with Government

Since the mid 1990s, GT Hiring Solutions has worked closely with various provincial and federal government agencies to develop and deliver employment programs aimed at helping individuals who are marginalized from the labour force to become employable and independent.  Over this timeframe the needs of both employers and the unemployed have evolved and, in response, the policy priorities of government and the associated requirements of government funded programs have also evolved.  In turn, we have worked with government to modify the focus and components of the employment programs that we deliver to ensure that they remain relevant. 

In some cases, for example, this process has involved testing an employment program concept on a pilot basis before implementing it on a broader basis.  In other cases, this has involved modifying programs to respond to changes in the labour market (e.g., from high income assistance rates in the late 1990s to very low unemployment rates in the mid 2000s) or to the growth in demand for workers in specific sectors (e.g., tourism and construction).

In addition to working with government to respond to employment program policy changes and delivery requirements, we have also worked closely with government to ensure that our programs are administered in a manner that meets privacy legislation requirements, and to ensure that our IT/IM system addresses government's information exchange and analysis requirements.
